Lucky Me Layouts

Little Yellow Bicycle created the most adorable line for St. Patricks Day. But I used it just to show how lucky I feel as a store owner being able to meet these great creators of the scrapbook industry.

Taking classes by Tim Holtz was surreal to say the least.

This is Cheryl Darrow, owner of Ten Second Studios. Working with her metal is amazing and the best embellsihment to use for older boys pages. My boys believe it makes their pages look "slick".

Finally, Nikki Sivils. Classmate from early high school years and now both in the scrapbooking industry. She owns her own paper and embellishment company designed by herself. This is a small world that allowed she and I to reunite after many years later. We are both new to the industry so I am giving us the "good luck" title.

Nikki Sivils' display

In the remodel, I gave Nikki Sivils her own four foot display with her newest winter CHA releases as well as her first ever releases from last year all on one display. Her papers are the cutest! (Yes, I am a little partial)

Remodeling Complete...just in time!

Here it is, the final results of our remodel! Doug, my wonderful husband,  built a 24' wall unit, 10' of check out counter space, 3- 8ft slatwall gondolas, and 4-4' gondolas. It was a family and friend effort of us all telling him how he should do it. LOL The store was literally transformed in less than 10 hrs. with all the old display moved out and the new in place. Ashley busted her tail to put out the merchandise on the new displays as they were ready. Eight of us, put in a full night until 2 a.m. and was back up here at 9 a.m. getting ready for the two year celebration as though nothing transpired. The Crop Room definitely became a crop room! My husband stated he has done more cropping in that room than all the ladies combined, hee-hee! He was deep in sawdust and even cleaned up the mess all the way to steam cleaning the carpets all before 1 p.m. when the days festivities began.

I know everyone thought the store was cute before, but this is what I had envisioned from the start. I hope you enjoy the new look as much as I am. Several deliveries will be coming in this week and we'll have room to put them out! Wow, I am so exicited.

Two Year Anniversary

Here are just a few of the lovely ladies that joined us to celebrate Photolicious's two year anniversary. Twelve ladies in all made this card using "Tilda on her elbows" by Magnolia stamps. None had ever used a Copic and should not had been able to produce such quality after just one class. But they had an excellent teacher, Barbara Hardeman combined with their crafting talent and cabam- total cuteness! They also created a Tim Holtz necklace with Amy Gaskins, Tattered Angel tags with Ashley Nixon, and then a one page layout with me using the Cricut, Gypsy and markers to create their own background and then stitched some vellum on to that page with a sewing machine. A day full of new techniques for all.

Let the card making and Copics begin...

I'm am so excited to announce our Copic and card classes will be soon begin!! I found Barbara Hardeman blog surfing, and of course when I saw her blog title of "Stampelicious", it definitely caught my eye! And I'm so glad it did! She is from Waco, so she'll have a little jaunt to make to come visit us. She is a SAHM but her nest is now empty at the time. She also has fostered 35 babies over the years. She has excellent teaching skills and does not want you to leave with any project unfinished! She explains to me that the ease of the Copic markers are what makes any of her colored images remarkable. Her favorite line of stamps are the Magnolias Stamp company out of Sweden. Their characters are big enough to really play with the ink. I am working on getting them into the store because I fell in love with them as well!

You can meet Barbara and do a free demo with her anytime between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. while we're celebrating Photolcious's TWO year anniversary on Saturday, April 10th. Until then check out her blog or come into the store and see her many samples she left! If you need to buy one of them, they are for sale. Just ask.

Don't forget Amy and Ronda's classes are just around the corner! Look for the date and sign up!
